🧵 New Tool Alert: The Increase/Decrease Evenly Calculator Is Here!

If you’ve ever stared at a pattern that says “increase evenly across the row”, then looked at your dozens of stitches and wondered how on earth do I do that? — you’re not alone. Figuring out how to space increases or decreases evenly can feel like a math puzzle you didn’t sign up for. But good news: we’ve built a calculator that does the hard part for you!

✨ What It Does

The Increase/Decrease Evenly Calculator helps you:

  • Calculate how to evenly space increases or decreases across a row or round
  • Avoid guesswork and awkward stitch placement
  • Get back to the fun part — actually making your project!

This tool takes the math off your plate and gives you a clear, easy-to-follow result.

🧮 How It Works

Just plug in:

  • The number of stitches you currently have
  • How many you want to increase or decrease

And voilà — the calculator tells you exactly how to space them out. No more scribbling on scrap paper or second-guessing your math.

You can even choose the “Symmetrical” option to have stitches, if possible, set aside on both ends, making it a great tool when working in rows and you would rather have your increases/decreases away from the edges.

💡 Why This Calculator?

Shaping can be one of the trickiest parts of a project — especially when the instructions are vague. This tool is designed to be simple, fast, and accurate, so you can spend less time calculating and more time creating.

🚀🧶 EasyKnitCalc Is Now Live!

After a month of building, testing, and refining, I’m excited to share that EasyKnitCalc is officially online!

This site started as a personal project — I wanted a way to generate a simple, custom-fit raglan sweater pattern based on my own measurements. As I worked through the math and shaping logic, I realized it could be useful to others too. So I decided to share it.

The goal of EasyKnitCalc is to help knitters create garments that fit — without the guesswork or unnecessary design flourishes. Just clean, customizable shaping based on your numbers.

The first tool available is the Raglan Sweater Calculator, which guides you through neckline shaping, stitch counts, and row-by-row instructions.

More shaping styles and garment options are on the way. I’ll post updates here whenever something new is added — so feel free to check back for the latest.
